OUR HISTORY
Taco embraces its history and continually innovates. We were founded by Elwood White in 1920 as the Thermal Appliance Company launching a firepot generator. TACO grew under White’s son, John Hazen White, building a world-class training facility offering high-efficiency products and technologies and expanding into global markets.

A 104-year-old, third-generation, family-owned global company based in Cranston, RI, engineers, and Taco manufactures high-efficiency indoor heating, cooling, and plumbing comfort systems. Our expertise and products save energy, money, and resources while improving indoor environmental quality.

TACO ITALIA
It all began more than 25 years ago, when the Askoll Group’s Research and Development Division was the first in the world to propose a two-phase permanent magnet synchronous circulator to boiler manufacturers, capable of reducing energy consumption to unprecedented levels.
The Group, which in the late 1980s had revolutionized the white goods market with a synchronous drain pump for washing machines that soon became a standard for all manufacturers worldwide, had thus thrown down the gauntlet in the HVAC sector, anticipating the European Community’s requirements for energy efficiency of circulators by more than 15 years.
Askoll Sei was born and soon won the trust of some of Europe’s leading boiler manufacturers, who began to adopt this innovative and environmentally friendly technology.
Regulations introduced by the European Community in 2013 for the trade and 2015 for OEM, imposed this technology as the market standard, allowing Askoll Sei to reap the full benefits of the great work done, greatly accelerating its establishment in Europe.
In 2014 Askoll Sei entered a partnership with Taco Inc., a leading company in the U.S.A., aimed at introducing synchronous inverter circulators designed in Italy to the US market. Even in the absence of regulations requiring the use of high efficiency circulators, the success is immediate, and the technology conquers the market.
This success and Askoll Sei’s great growth prospects lead Taco to propose the acquisition of Askoll Sei to the Askoll Group. As a result, from January 1, 2016, the company becomes part of the Taco Group, changing its name to Taco Italia srl.
Today Taco Italia is the Taco Group’s competence center for the development of high-efficiency circulators.
